Bluetti AC50B Review
Welcome to Portable Power Geek. This is our Bluetti AC50B Review.
It’s a new generator, introduced in late 2024. Most technological products go through a fairly slow, steady evolution.
But portable power stations can have quite major differences in as little as a year.
Why? Simply because of Lithium Iron Phosphate, better known as LiFePO4, batteries. This battery type is going through a sustained revolution. That is, very steep, fast period of improvements – having greater capacity per unit of volume and higher, more consistent power delivery each year.
So, if you’re going to invest a not-insignificant amount of money in a power station, you’ll want to check out the latest models first.
Here’s the price and specifications, at Bluetti UK.

What factors did we take into account for our Bluetti power station review?
We rated it for:
- Maker quality and reputation
- Grade of Lithium battery cells used
- BMS standard
- Number of ports to charge and power electrical equipment
- Ways the generator can be charged

Rating the Bluetti AC50B
What was great and what was, ah, not so great about this model?
Bluetti AC50B
Pros and who needs this battery powered generator:

Hyper-fast charging, good to go after just 45 minutes
We’ve been dealing with power stations for quite a while, long enough that we remember when charging in 2.5 hours was advertised as “super fast charging”. And we couldn’t have anticipated a day where a good-to-go charge (of 80%) could be achieved in just 45 minutes. Well, here we are. This is the fastest charging power station we’ve seen to date.

One of the best BMSs on the market
Since it’s developed in 2024, it has a very smart AI BMS, significantly improving even on those launched in 2023…

One of the leading brands, in 2024
Bluetti is a well-respected, if not household name, brand. Along with Jackery, one of the companies whose portable power station quality has seen them grow into a respected brand.

Outstanding solar charging, at this price level
A maximum solar charge of 200W, it’s as much as double many competitors in this price bracket. It’s only beaten by, you guessed it, the River 2 Max, which offers a maximum 200W charging by solar panels.
Negative points and why this particular model may not be for you:

It’s out-competed by the equivalent EcoFlow in several respects
This price point has it competing with the EcoFlow River 2 Max, which has more power, energy capacity, ports, AC outlets for lower cost.

Not over-burdened with ports, shall we say
5 ports, and just one AC port, is fewer than other competing models. What it has in its favour is that it’ll provide 700W of power with that AC port, which is 100-200W more than other power stations at this price bracket.

Bluetti AC50B Review Summary
Thanks for reading. That was our Bluetti AC50B Review.
You read that it has blazing fast charging, the fastest we’ve seen to date. And a superb quality BMS giving you consistent power delivery, reliability and longevity; not to mention, a safer product than many on the market. It’s really a good all-rounder.
We were just disappointed with the lack of ports, and it has to be said that the River 2 Max offers several power advantages at the same price level.
Overall, though, we ranked it as the best power station in the entire 400W to 1000W category. By the way, you can also check out its 1800W bigger brother in our Bluetti AC180 Review.

Good luck with your decision on whether the Bluetti AC50B portable power station is right for you.
