This is our EcoFlow Delta 3 Review.
This is the brand new range from EcoFlow, it’s not just a single model. In fact, there’s 1200W, nearly 10kg in weight, and a fair few hundred quid difference in price between the largest and smallest models in the range.
The model names can be a bit confusing, but we’ll set out and clearly describe each different model in the range, so you can pick the one that’s right for your power needs and for your budget.
In our review, we’ll run through the pros and cons of each model and give them all an overall rating.
There’s plenty of things we liked, as well as some flaws to draw your attention to.

X-Boost function is well done and super useful – lets you operate high-wattage appliances that would have been impossible.
Really fast-charging, thanks to high-spec full-tab lithium cells.
Two 100W USB Type-C means hyper-fast charging for your devices.
Great expansion options – EcoFlow are the best for this.
Reliable and fast UPS function, only 10ms switchover – the fastest on the portable power station market.
Fewer life-cycles than the new Bluetti models, and by 50%.
The Delta 3 unit is just slightly heavy compared to competitors.

Here are the pros, and who would need a Delta 3 portable power station:
The X-Boost Function is a rare feature that few power stations can match works great
We’re big fans of EcoFlow’s X-Boost function. Though the Delta 3 is an 1800W power station, you have the ability to continuously power appliances up to 2400W. That gives you the ability to use this power station for high-power appliances like hairdryers, kettles and ovens. How does it work? The X-Boost function is clever enough that it can slightly reduce the voltage and current given to the electrical device, which lowers the power supply it requires enough that you can use it successfully. It’s great technology and in our analysis, it’s proven to work very well on these high-power appliances.
Super fast charging
The Delta 3 will get a full 100% charge in less than an hour (56 mins, in fact). That’s thanks to the battery being made with the latest generation of lithium cells. They have greater power density per inch, and can be charged much faster than previous lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) cells. This charge speed a lot faster than a main competing model, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2, which fully charges in 1.7 hours (although that model also offers reduced charging time via a special mode in the Jackery App).
The best for fast-charging your devices
It’s equipped with 2 100W USB-Type C ports. That’s the most powerful Type-C ports we’ve ever seen in a power station. Most of the top brands offerings for this power category give you one 100W port and the second is much less powerful. For example, the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 has one 100W port and one 30W port for USB Type-C, and the Anker Solix C1000 is the same.
The best for expanding your power system
Other portable power station makers (FYI, we’ve compared EcoFlow with Jackery) have followed suit, but EcoFlow has long been giving customers many options to expand their power stations with additional batteries, and to use generators. They’re still the best at it. This Delta 3 model is representative of this, expandable up to a 5kWh system.
Cons and why you may want to look elsewhere:
Rated for far less life cycles than Bluetti
Life cycles of 4000+ is very good, and given EcoFlow’s excellent quality, it could give you genuinely 10 years service. But Bluetti’s new Elite 200 v2 (and their Apex range) is rated for 6000+ life cycles. That means the Delta 3’s life cycles are 50% less.
Just a little on the heavy side, for a new power station
The Delta 3 has out for less than a year. Most of the top portable power station manufacturers have new models which are exceptionally light compared to previous models of this power category. The Delta 3, at 12.5kg is 1kg heavier than the Bluetti Elite 100 V2, and nearly 2kg heavier than the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 (albeit that model is only 1500W).

Delta 3 Classic Review
Pros, things in common, and areas where it outshines the Delta 3 model (reviewed above):
Same capacity of 1024Wh 1800W power, with the same possibility to power 2400W appliances using X-Boost mode.
Lighter than the Delta 3 and Delta 3 Plus models, albeit only by 400g (12.1kg to their 12.5kg).
Same App to control it, and select modes, check charge levels etc. And with Bluetooth and Wifi, as well.
Same super-fast switchover time of 10ms, with UPS mode.
Same long-lasting LiFePO4 battery life cycles of 4000 cycles.
Cons and aspects that are not as good as the Delta 3:
Only 5 outlets, that’s fully 6 less than the Delta 3 Series models (which means the Delta 3 and the Delta 3 Plus).
Maximum charging power is only 1400W (compared to 1500W for the Delta 3 models.
It takes 2.5 hours for a full 100% charge by solar panels (500W), compared to 2 hours for the Delta 3 Series models.
Though it also has two fast-charge USB-C ports, only one port is 100W, the other port is 30W.
The warranty is the 3+2 years type, rather than the straight 5 year warranty offered by the Delta 3 Series models..

Delta 3 Plus Review
Pros, aspects in common, and where it improves on the Delta 3 (the main Delta 3 model, not the Classic model):
Identical capacity and weight, that is 1024Wh, and 1800W.
The most significant difference by far: 1000W Max. solar panel charge maximum, compared to 500W for the Delta 3 model.
That means 70 minutes to get a full charge, compared to 2 hours for the Delta 3.
Same App with Bluetooth and Wifi connection options.
Cons and flaws compared to Delta 3:
It’s a fair bit more expensive than the Delta 3, given that the only major difference of note is the increased maximum solar charge power. If you get this model, it’d only be because you want the greater solar power charging speed.

EcoFlow Delta 3 Max
Pros and areas of superiority compared to the original Delta 3 model:
It has double the battery capacity, 2048Wh, compared to 1024Wh for the Delta 3.
Despite having double the capacity, it’s only rated for 600W more, at 2400W. X-Boost mode works up to 3200W, that’s 800W higher than it’ll work for the Delta 3.
Much greater charging power maximum, 2300W, compared to 1500W for the Delta 3. It’ll get a full charge in 68 minutes, which is longer – but remember it has double the capacity, so it’s actually much faster charging, nearly twice as fast.
Same App (with Bluetooth and Wifi).
Also rated for 4000+ cycles.
Cons and aspects poorer than the Delta 3:
Much heavier than the Delta 3, nearly 8kg heavier. Why? That’s the result of the battery capacity being twice as large.
As you’d perhaps also expect, then, it’s a fair bit larger in size, as well.
Perhaps surpisingly, it has fewer ouput ports. 9, compared to the Delta 3’s 11 ports.
500W solar charge maximum. That’s less than the 1000W maximum you’d get with the Delta 3 Plus.
This model, unlike the Delta 3 Max Plus, cannot be expanded with additional batteries.

EcoFlow Delta 3 Max Plus
Pros, areas in common, and areas of superiority to the other models, and other power stations:
Like the original Delta 3, this model has 2048Wh battery capacity.
The Delta 3 Max Plus has the largest maximum continuous power rating of 3000W (600W mode than the Delta 3 Max, and 1200W more than the Delta 3). X-Boost continuous output is up to 3900W.
1000W Solar Maximum charge power, that’s 500W more than the Delta 3 Max.
Can be expanded up to 10kWh system with additional batteries (the Delta 3 Max model cannot).
Like all other models in the Delta 3 range, this model has the high-quality EcoFlow App (with Bluetooth and Wifi).
Again, like the other the LiFePO4 battery is rated for 4000+ cycles.
Cons and aspects poorer than other power stations and/or other models in this range:
10 ports (inlcuding 4 AC ports) is good, but some competitor models, like the Allpowers R2500 and the Aferiy P210 (see our Aferiy review) offer 13 ports.
At 22.1kg, it’s nearly 10kg heavier than the Delta 3 (but remember it’s much more powerful and with double the capacity). Compared to other brands’ power station of this capacity/power, this weight is about average.
The Delta 3 Max Plus’s 1000W solar maximum is good but the 2800W Aferiy P280 gives you a 1200W solar Maximum charge.

EcoFlow Delta 3 Review Summary
We’ll call it a day there, on this EcoFlow Delta 3 Review.
This is EcoFlow’s newest range, comprised of 5 different models.
You get the build quality you’d expect from EcoFlow, and, in fact, they’ve produced their most high-spec models to date.
The lithium (LiFePO4) cells in the Delta 3 models are outstanding -they’re automotive grade full-tab cells, meaning they’re better for efficiency and safety, and produce less heat than cells used by the vast majority of power station producers.
They’re all super-fast to charge, another signature sign of good quality lithium cells.
The new X-Boost function works really well, and lets you use appliances that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.
There were some downsides. The Delta 3 model is a little on the heavy side, compared to competitor models with similar capacity and power.
The Delta 3 Max and Delta 3 Max Plus models are the premium models in this range, but only 9 and 10 ports respectively, compared to 13 ports for Aferiy and Allpowers power stations.
And when you consider your next portable power station purchase, you should be aware that Bluetti’s new range (such as the Bluetti Elite 200 V2) offers 50% greater life cycles, EcoFlow haven’t been able to match that longevity of battery cells.
